As of December 1st, the CSC has complemented its certification system by adding a dedicated system for “Slag Grinding Stations”.Slag, a by-product of pig iron production, is used in cement and concrete production as secondary cementitious material.
The CSC certification system for slag grinding stations recognizes dedicated responsible sourcing systems for steel to cover the raw material supply chain of slag. With the introduction of the new CSC certification system for slag grinding stations, the CSC aims at supporting the decarbonization efforts of the cement and concrete sector.
